How it all started.
In February 2003, Annica got tired of playing on her
own and being without a back-up band. She decided then to form a band
in Falun, since that’s her hometown and that’s where she has
most of her musical connections.
Annica placed an ad in the local paper and received a
bunch of replies - from drummers!!! So, she started thinking of
starting a samba orchestra instead, but she soon binned that idea.
Anyway, she liked one of the drummers, Jojje Engström, so together
they found Anders. S-O’s wife also replied to the ad and told us that
she’s married to a very talented man. We grabbed a hold of him since
he was all that we asked for and more. After that we were facing the
biggest problem: Where do we find a good bassist?? They don’t grow on
trees…S-O solved this problem with asking his friend, Jimmie. Already
at our first rehearsal we realised what an incredible talent he is.
So, there the Countryneers were made!
After a couple of months Jojje quit and the search for
a new drummer began. Annica asked Micke if he could help us out, at
least for a gig or two. Micke and Jimmie hit it off immediately and
Micke realised that it’s fun to play country music. Thereby Micke
became our drummer.
After a while S-O left Countryneers
and Andreas "Ea" joined the band. That boy can play the guitar, no
more comments is needed!
Country-SM became the last
performance Micke did with Countryneers.
Our new drummer is Mattias
Hyttsten, check out his own page for further
details.
We have found our own style of country music. With
Annica’s songs and the Countryneers’ sound we have something both good
and unique. Besides playing Annica’s own songs we play more or less
known covers, of artist like Emmylou Harris, Heather Myles and Nanci
Griffith.
All this to give our audience an unforgettable
experience.
